Judges Comments:
Nice, clean framing on the image. Bentley is completely in focus and the images personifies what summer feels like the most. Overall, a strong, well toned and cropped feature image.

Judges Comments:
This is a different take on a duck derby image and is reminiscent of a cattle drive. Nice layering in the frame, but maybe could have lightened up the individual in the paddleboat and cropped out the kayak peeking in on the left hand side. Great job!

Judges Comments:
This image rose to the top because of what a great moment this is. We could feel the cows sticky tongue running across our hands after looking at the frame, plus its super clean. Great job in executing this.

Judges Comments:
Nice Summer frame. We would have waited a minute or moved over slightly so the paddleboarder, second from right, isnt layered on top of the person in front of them. Having them more to the right of the frame, in the clearing, would have made this a stronger image.

Judges Comments:
Great job with the framing of this image. The strong color and geometric patterns throughout the frame also helped elevate this image to first place. We would consider a smidge of the bottom to take care of some of the tops of heads. Also would have maybe looked at moving the frame to limit the wire coming out of you performers left leg.

Judges Comments:
Nice, clean silhouette. Overall a well-executed take on a firework image and providing something interesting in the foreground to elevate the frame.

Judges Comments:
Nice moment. We wouldve tried to get the full kiddo in the frame, or waited to see if Charlottes parent moved out of frame to limit partial, cut-off limbs.

Judges Comments:
Good job working in a low-light situation. We wouldve attempted to move to a spot you could take out most of the flag/flagpole and cover the moon sticking out. Would have also liked to see a bit more of both of their faces.

Image:m_80-queen_01
Judges Comments:
Out of the entries in this months multiple image category, this collection of images provided the most emotional variety. But, we would have completely re-sequenced this as well as reconsidered some of the frames included.

In photo essays, you want to take the reader on a visual narrative and this felt more like a collection of images than something with an arc. What is the queen doing when shes not queening? Does she work on a farm? Who does she eat dinner with? Whats her day-time job? Would love to see more context on who she is.

Also, remember to consider your wide, medium and detail shots that make up a lot of visual variety throughout. We loved the chicken frame!!

Judges Comments:
This was a strong gallery of graphic images on the water issue. Would have loved to see people in this collection interacting with the water. You have to ask yourself – who is being impacted by this? What does that look like? A re-sequence would have also helped this entry – wouldve opened with the dry, crackling earth frame if not something different.

Judges Comments:
Some nice golfing moments throughout. We wish David Mills wouldve been the main subject in all of these frames as well as some detail (tight) shots included to visually break things up. Right now, there are a lot of similar frames in here.

Judges Comments:
Nice job capturing peak action here – well done. We would consider cropping in the from the left because Paydens hat isnt adding much to the frame. Great emotion here that shows what the event is all about.

Judges Comments:
A successful sports action image typically requires a ball, athlete emotion and action — this frame has all three. Great timing with the golf ball being lined up on the sidewalk – directly across from her face.

Judges Comments:
The dirt turning over definitely adds to this image and it was cropped and toned really nicely. The pops of color throughout the frame make it visually interesting.

Judges Comments:
This image made us chuckle and is a nice moment considering AJ is a grown man. Clean image overall as well.

Judges Comments:
This was a very visually pleasing image with the matching colors throughout the frame. Great job framing the subject and execution overall. The only thing that wouldve made this image even stronger would have been seeing the ball, but we recognize thats likely not possible.

Judges Comments:
Great job capturing the reactions of the people in the frame. We did think, however, the image could have been brightened quite a bit and cropped into the moment.

Judges Comments:
Great symmetry here, but again we would brighten the frame up and crop in a bit tighter too.
